It is not easy to be a leader. This is what I have come to realize while I was serving the student body in high school as president. It is tough, especially when you think about the many responsibilities that come along with the position that you hold. There were times when situations become so tough that I sometimes think of quitting and giving it all up. Sometimes I think of living a normal student life, just like many of my friends. But my dad always reminds me to imagine the great leaders in the world and think about what they need to go through every single day, in the name of public service. Dad tells me that even these great leaders also have bad days and that it is okay to feel tired once in a while. “Even tony blair gets tired, you know.” dad tells me and I would smile. He is right after all. Leadership is a call to serve and I am honored to be given this chance. I commit myself to this calling.
