What is asthma?
Asthma is an inflammatory disease which affects the airways of the lungs. This means that the bronchial tubes which take air to your lungs are more sensitive than usual, leading them to become swollen and inflamed when exposed to a trigger, much like seasonal allergies. The inflammation causes the air passages to become narrow and the level of mucus production increases. An important thing to remember is asthma is not an age or gender specific disease and it can affect anyone.
How do I know if I have asthma?
The most common signs or symptoms of asthma is a dry cough which persists through exercise (ranging from mild walking to an intensive work out) and in colder weather. You may find that you have a dry or hacking cough that surface only in the evening. Other more severe symptoms include breathlessness, tightness of the chest and wheezing. If you are concerned you may be suffering from asthma, you should consult your healthcare professional with your concerns before seeking any types of treatment or therapy.
What are some natural remedies or therapies to help ease my asthma symptoms?
The most common and effective natural remedies and therapies for asthma involve the use of Himalayan salt. Salt cave therapy for asthma has been used for hundreds of years. Salt therapy works to ease asthma by breathing in the dry, microscopic aerosol salt particles which are immediately transported to not only the bronchial tubes affected by asthma, but the entire respiratory system. Once the microscopic salt particles have settled against the walls of the inflamed bronchial tubes, the salt begins dissolve and the mucus and impurities within the tract and tubes become attracted to the salt. The salt, infections and impurities leave the organs via the bloodstream. This all happens while you are relaxing in the salt therapy room, focusing on your breathing. Best of all, the treatment is completely natural and non-invasive.
In addition to having regular salt therapy sessions for your asthma, having Himalayan salt lamps around the home and even regularly drinking water with Himalayan salt mixed in are both known to be effective in easing and even stopping the symptoms of asthma.
